Happy Birthday (America) dress

Yesterday after realizing Hastings didn't have anything "fancy" to wear for her first 4th of July (as if she really needs something fancy for camping) I went through my scrap fabric bin and came up with an easy little red and white onesie dress. After many failed attempts at embroidering her initials on the top knit portion of the dress, we ended up with this:
The enormous blue flower thing on the front was necessary to cover the many small holes left behind after ripping out the embroidery - twice...ok three times.
So what's the verdict? Can she wear this in public?
